Dear Sir:
I just found out about what Australia is doing to the helpless sheep
that happen to live there and I just want to let you know that almost
no one else in the whole world would let this happen. I personally
would not hurt a sheep for money.
Just imagine if you were a sheep. I don’t think you would
want half your rump cut off without being given any pain medication.
And I don’t think you’d want to be squished together
with a bunch of other sheep and sent on an overheated ship to Asia
as if you were a package. And if you managed to survive that journey,
I don’t believe you’d want to be slaughtered in the
horrible way they kill sheep in Asia.
So, please think about the terrible act you are committing with
these animals and consider a more peaceful and humane way to treat
your sheep.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Sincerely,
Nicole Neidhardt, age 12
Dear Sir:
Put the businesses that hurt the sheep out of business.
Travis Kimberly, age 7
Dear Sir:
Please stop your sheep farmers from hurting their sheep.
Eva Ross, age 9
Dear Sir:
Please be nicer to your sheep.
Ian Watson, age 6
Dear Prime Minister:
It has come to my attention that the people in Australia have been
cutting the skin off the rumps of sheep to keep blowflies from laying
eggs in their skin folds. I believe this is an inhumane act and
the sheep are being put in unnecessary pain when just shearing the
sheep would accomplish this task. These sheep are not even given
anesthetics, so they are completely conscious and in a great deal
of pain during and after this process. I can’t understand
why innocent animals are being made to suffer so much when there
are other ways that would take care of the blowfly problem without
hurting the sheep. Please consider shearing the sheep instead. It
haunts me to think about this.
Sincerely,
Jack Larson, age 12
Dear Prime Minister,
What did your sheep do to you? Your acts toward your sheep are cruel
and inhumane. I do not know of any other country who is so evil to
innocent animals.
Sincerely,
Savannah Hamilton, age 10
Dear Prime Minister:
You’re not supposed to treat animals the way you are treating
your sheep. Your sheep give you wool. Treat them nicely. What if someone
cut the skin off your butt?
Sincerely,
Alexis Elliot, age 6
Dear Prime Minister,
I wish you weren’t hurting your sheep. Why are you doing this?
Please stop treating your sheep the way you do.
Sincerely,
Isabel de Katona, age 8
Dear Sir,
Please quit cutting the skin off your sheep’s bums. And if you
must ship your sheep to the Middle East, please keep the ships better.
God made lambs. Who made you?
